About updating the limitation of metal content in jewelry in CA65

       On September 27, 2019, California's governor signed SB 647 into law.The act amends the California law on the limitation of metal content in jewelry, known as the California health and safety code (25214.1-25214.4.2), with the following major amendments:

1. Reduce the limit of total lead in adult jewelry ;
2. To widen the age range of children from 6 years and below to 15 years and below;
3. The limit of total lead in children's jewelry  should be consistent with CPSIA;Increasing soluble cadmium requirements in coatings of children's jewelry (head ornaments);
4. Details the information content to be included in the certificate (provided if necessary).
